New Look for Sunset Station
As part of an ongoing effort to modernize and enhance its existing properties, Station Casinos recently disclosed its remodeling plans for Sunset Station, with the highlight being a casino floor makeover. This is the second major refurbishment in Henderson, following earlier enhancements at Green Valley Ranch.
While the Las Vegas-based operator is also gearing up for the grand launch of Durango Casino and Resort in November, it has also demonstrated a commitment to revamping existing properties. Last year, Red Rock Casino in Summerlin went through significant refurbishments, especially on the casino floor and dining areas.
Elevated Casino Floor Experience
Sunset Station’s casino floor will undergo an impressive revamp, but this means that various sections will be temporarily off-limits as they receive new carpets, updated lighting, and modern fixtures and fittings.
Designed to further enhance the guest experience, all restrooms are set to be refitted with a range of contemporary amenities. Patrons who are already familiar with Sunset Station’s signature Spanish-style theme can rest assured, as the redesign aims to retain this characteristic ambiance, but with a touch of modern flair.
Expressing excitement about the transformation, Jordan Seager, the Vice President and General Manager of Sunset Station, wrote in a recent Station Casinos blog post:
For over a quarter of a century, Sunset Station has consistently set higher standards for our Henderson community. This renovation will undeniably provide a top-tier experience for our esteemed guests.
Another significant change resulting from the revamp will be the relocation of the current High Limit slot room, which will now be incorporated into the new race and sportsbook. The designated area for high-stakes slot machines will move to the former Keno space.
Changes to Sportsbook
The changes will also include an exciting new onsite sportsbook. As a result, Sunset Station’s race and sportsbook has temporarily shut down to make way for a brand-new state-of-the-art STN race and sportsbook.
According to officials, the sportsbook will retain the essence of traditional parimutuel horse betting that many Vegas Strip sportsbooks have abandoned. All of Station Casinos’ properties continue to feature genuine race and sportsbooks.
The redesigned Sunset Station sportsbook will boast a staggering 150-foot video wall, which will show all the games and races. This will enable sports fans to immerse themselves in the action while enjoying some sports wagering thrills. Adding to the luxury, visitors can relax in the plush lounge-style seating and place their wagers at the newly introduced kiosks.
For the duration of the remodeling process, an interim race and sportsbook has been set up adjacent to the Rewards Center. Furthermore, Club Madrid is poised to be the hotspot for football enthusiasts to view games, providing coverage every Monday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
A major addition will be the inclusion of a spacious bar area. Similar to those installed at Green Valley Ranch and Red Rock, this bar is set to offer an exciting menu featuring cocktails, tap beers, and a range of liquors. There will also be approximately 20 bar-top gaming machines to enhance the guest experience.
