Rivers Casino Pittsburgh is set to celebrate its 15th anniversary in August, marking a decade and a half of growth and expansion. The casino is operated by Chicago-based Rush Street Gaming, and it has recently completed a $6.6 million upgrade to its facilities. The improvements have been focused on enhancing guest experiences as well as boosting event hosting capabilities.
The huge investment was largely directed toward modernizing and expanding the casino’s event spaces. Among the new additions is the Bridges Ballroom, which is a 7,044-square-foot venue located on the second floor.
This new event room looks out over the Ohio River, featuring a balcony that offers a panoramic view. The flexibility of the space is one of its key features, with options to partition it into three smaller sections.
This includes the Fort Duquesne Room, the Fort Pitt Room, and a middle section, which means that it can cater to a variety of events and group sizes.
In a bid to further enhance its corporate and executive offerings, Rivers Casino has introduced four new private meeting rooms. These spaces are designed to accommodate a range of configurations, providing ideal settings for board meetings and executive sessions.
The casino’s main event space, the 25,000-square-foot Event Center, has also received a facelift. This area is known for hosting sold-out performances from popular acts like Boyz II Men and K.C. & The Sunshine Band, as well as celebrity appearances. It has been refreshed to improve both aesthetic appeal and functionality.
Bud Green, who is the general manager of Rivers Pittsburgh, said in a statement:
We’re happy to provide new spaces and more dates for hosting conferences, weddings, and special events.
In addition to event space enhancements, Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has spent money on upgrading amenities for its patrons. A full-service Starbucks Coffee can now be found at the casino’s main entrance, adding a convenient option for guests.
The end of 2023 also saw the opening of the Black Card Room, an exclusive area for VIP members of the Rush Rewards Players Club. This exclusive space caters to members who reach the highest tier of the casino’s loyalty program, requiring at least 25,000 tier points within a six-month period.
Black Card members get to enjoy a range of other benefits, including complimentary stays at Atlantis in the Bahamas, free valet services, priority check-cashing, and the ability to request slot holds. They are also entitled to four complimentary nights annually at Rio Las Vegas, adding even more value to the loyalty program.
The financial performance of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has been impressive and has highlighted its strong position in the area’s casino industry.
In 2023, the casino generated gross gaming revenue of around $354.5 million from its slots and table games, securing over a 10 percent market share in the state. Its slots operations alone brought in $267.3 million, ranking it third in Pennsylvania, while table games contributed an additional $87.2 million, placing it in fifth position.
