The online casino industry in the US has had another significant momentum in November 2024.  States such as New Jersey and Michigan reported new record revenues, which once again shows the growing popularity of internet gambling activities across the country. Stay tuned to find out more interesting details.

Michigan Takes the Lead in November 2024

With a record-setting revenue of $226 million in November, Michigan takes the lead in the US. This is a substantial increase from the reported $175.3 million for the same period last year and exceeds the October record of $220.7 million.

There are 16 licensed online casinos operating in the Wolverine State, including popular brands like DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Palace. Combined, they have contributed $42.5 million in taxes, benefiting Detroit, tribal governments, and state funds.

New Jersey Follows Close Behind

Despite Michigan taking the lead, New Jersey is not far behind. The Garden State has set a new all-time revenue record of $214 million, a nearly 25% increase from $171.6 million in November 2023. Overall, New Jersey has a very well-established gambling market.

When it comes to online casino games, you can choose between top-quality brands such as Golden Nugget and BetMGM. All of them are licensed and regulated by the NJDGE. The state collected $32.2 million in taxes from these platforms, a significant portion of its gambling tax revenue.

Pennsylvania Reaches New Heights

In November, Pennsylvania’s online casino revenue reached $200.4 million compared to $191.9 million the previous year. Hollywood Casino and Valley Forge are among the leading operators in the Keystone State, and there are over 20 online platforms available for players. Together, they’ve significantly contributed to Pennsylvania’s $88.6 million tax collection.

Emerging Markets Show Promise

Connecticut has only two casino sites – DraftKings and Mohegan Sun. Mohegan Gaming, the operator of Mohegan Sun and several other land-based and online casinos across the US, has reported a record-breaking 2024 fiscal year net revenue.

Net revenues of $1.9 billion increased $216.7 million compared with the prior-year period due to the addition of Mohegan INSPIRE, continued growth in Mohegan Digital, and strong non-gaming revenues at our other resorts,

– said Ari Glazer, Chief Financial Officer of Mohegan Gaming.

We’ve also seen a substantial increase in Connecticut’s online gambling revenue in November 2024 – $41.3 million, up from $32.7 million in the same month in 2023. West Virginia also demonstrated significant progress, with $23.4 million in iGaming revenue, mirroring October’s record levels and marking a substantial increase from $13.9 million last year.

Delaware saw its gaming revenues rise to $6.2 million from $1.1 million last November, with online slots accounting for the majority at $4 million. While Rhode Island’s official figures for November are pending, estimates suggest consistent revenues around $3.1 million, matching October’s performance.

Unlimited Potential Ahead

Online casinos in the US are still relatively new as a concept, with only a few states in which such activities are legal. This, however, doesn’t stop the sector from reaching new heights on a regular basis. We’ve yet to see its full potential realized in the future. The trick is to create a balanced and well-regulated gambling environment for all parties involved.
