New Management Assignment at Foxwood Resort Foxwoods Resort Casino

It has been announced that a new CEO has been appointed at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. Jason Guyot will now become both the CEO and president of the casino resort. This comes after almost a year of being the acting CEO.

The casino resort is operated by the Pequot Tribal Nation, and Guyot has been acting CEO since April 2020. The global pandemic has made it a very challenging year for the new CEO, but the casino resort still managed to win the USA Today Top Ten Best Readers’ Choice Awards despite the chaos of the past twelve months.

Playing a Vital Role in the Success of the Casino Resort

According to tribe officials, Guyot has played a vital role in the success of the casino resort over the past year since being appointed acting CEO. His role now becomes full-time and permanent, which the tribe said is a testament to his hard work and commitment.

The chairman of the Pequot Tribal Nation, Rodney Butler, said:

What Jason has done over the past twelve months has been remarkable, taking the helm of Foxwoods at the onset of the pandemic, building safety guidelines from the ground up to ensure guests feel safe, and championing a new kind of culture for our team members.

Tribal members said that 2020 had been one of the most difficult years on record for the casino resort, with the global pandemic causing devastation. Overall, casinos across Connecticut suffered losses of more than 31 percent last year compared to the previous year. Months of closures and restricted opening had a severe impact on finances.

As the new CEO and president, Guyot also expressed his excitement at being given the role on a permanent basis. He said that he was passionate about the industry and wanted to carry on being a part of the success and growth of the casino resort.

A Tough Year for the Resort

The casino resort suffered a very difficult year last year, as was the case for all casinos across the country. Toward the start of the year, casinos across the country had to close due to the pandemic, although tribal casinos did this voluntarily to help control the spread of the infection. Casinos then remained closed for several months before being allowed to reopen.

After they were allowed to open, casinos were given strict guidelines and regulations to work to, and these included restricted capacity and the ongoing closure of some of the facilities. This then meant that finances and revenue continued to be affected despite casinos being open again.

At the start of the pandemic, the company had to place two thousand employees on furlough as casinos across the country closed.

However, despite all these issues, the resort casino opened back up and got employees back in order to continue providing an entertaining and fun experience for patrons. Guyot said that he hopes to continue the ongoing success and will remain invested in the company, the casino resort, and its employees and patrons.
