Massive Expansion of Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Huge Facelift Planned for Plaza Hotel & Casino

It has been announced that the Plaza Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas is to benefit from a huge facelift set to cost millions of dollars.

The recent announcement was made following the resort’s 50th anniversary celebrations, which took place last year. Having passed this major milestone, the popular casino resort is now set to be reinvented with a range of changes due to take place as part of the renovation project.

The casino, which is located in the downtown area, will see a transformation as a result of the work that is to be carried out. Construction is due to start very soon, and it will include four huge projects that will help to enhance and transform the casino resort. Officials believe that the project could be completed by the end of this year.

Transforming the Main Street Façade

According to officials from the casino resort, the project will help to transform the Main Street façade of the venue. A spokesperson for the casino said that it was a very exciting time for the property and the area.

Jonathan Jossel, chief executive officer of the Plaza Hotel & Casino, said:

When you look at what’s happening around here and the great changes happening downtown that are starting to take shape, we’ve always felt that Main Street would be the best street in downtown. That’s actually started to happen, with the bulk of the Arts District from the south.

The renovation will include the addition of a new bar underneath the Plaza dome, rooftop dining facilities, and a gaming area that offers smoke-free gambling facilities.

A focal point at the property will be the Carousel Bar, which will be an outdoor space that spans 2,500 square feet. This is set to be a quirky space with carousel horses, spinning glasses, and hand-crafted cocktails.

There will also be an outdoor cooling system in place to help patrons to cool down in the Las Vegas heat, and the bar can accommodate 100 seated guests.

The improvements also include an open-air gaming area that is being touted as both smoke-free and social media friendly. There will be a range of gaming options catering to a variety of preferences, and the Plaza will have control of the music that is played in the area.

Above the new gaming area will be Oscar’s Patio, which will be a stunning rooftop bar that looks out onto the bright lights of Fremont and Main Streets. The rooftop restaurant can accommodate 225 people, and casino officials said that it will be the first open-air fine dining establishment in the downtown area.

A Rich History

The Plaza has a long and rich history in Las Vegas, having been opened back in 1971. It helped to put Las Vegas on the map as an exciting and glamorous destination, and the new additions and renovations will now help to bring the property into the 21st century.

A number of renovations have already taken place at the property between 2010 and 2019.
