Las Vegas could soon see yet another addition when it comes to its casino resorts, as it has been reported that Fertitta Entertainment is looking to increase its presence in the area. The company, which is headed up by American billionaire Tilman Fertitta, is planning the construction of a huge casino resort in Las Vegas according to recent reports.
The company already has one major property in the area in the form of the Golden Nugget, so the construction of a second property would double its presence in Las Vegas.
In addition to the Las Vegas Golden Nugget, Fertitta also has properties in Louisiana, Mississippi, and New Jersey. It is reported that Fertitta Entertainment has already paid out $270 million recently to purchase the land, which is situated on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Harmon Ave.
The planned resort from Fertitta will be a sprawling one that offers a range of facilities and amenities for visitors and guests to enjoy. According to reports, the casino hotel will be a 43-story one and will have a range of eateries for visitors to select from as well as a theater that accommodates 2.500 people.
The development will have more than 2,400 rooms, and a full-service spa is planned for the resort as well as a wedding chapel, convention spaces, and even a car showroom. The company is keen to offer other unique facilities such as villas and suites, and the casino will come with a high-limits lounge.
At present, the company is waiting for the Clark County Commission to give the green light on the project. This should be sorted out at its next meeting on October 19th, after which the company can press ahead with its plans if everything is approved.
Jeff Cantwell, the development executive vice president for the group, said:
We have acquired a truly unique piece of real estate and are actively exploring this development opportunity. While we continue to go through the review and planning process, no firm decision has yet been made concerning our future plans.
He added that the prime position of the property, if it is approved, would prove hugely beneficial and that this would be an upscale casino resort with plenty to offer visitors. It will also enjoy being surrounded by other major resorts that attract many visitors from around the world.
If everything is approved by the Clark County Commission and the project goes ahead, it means that there will be another great option available for visitors to Las Vegas when it comes to accommodation and entertainment.
With people heading to Las Vegas for everything from world-class entertainment to gambling, conferences, weddings, and more, all of the hotels along and around the Las Vegas Strip are very busy. With its location right by the other major resorts, it is hoped that the new casino resort from Fertitta will also reap the benefits of being in such a busy area.
