Elk Grove’s Sky River Casino

It has been reported that the new Sky River Casino in Elk Grove is set to open in a matter of weeks, with construction having been completed ahead of time. An announcement was made by the Wilton Rancheria tribe recently confirming that the new facility should be ready to open in September, which is a couple of months earlier than had been expected.

The new 10,000-foot casino will provide locals and visitors to the area with a host of entertainment options, and in the meantime, casino officials confirmed that hiring for jobs at the facility is still ongoing.

While construction has been completed, the casino still needs to bring on board team members to staff the facility. If all goes to plan, this should be completed over the coming weeks so that the planned September opening can go ahead.

A $500 Million Project

Work on the casino began back in March last year, and a ground-breaking ceremony took place at this time. The Wilton Rancheria teamed up with Boyd Gaming for the huge casino project, and once it is finished it is estimated that the cost will be around $500 million.

The Wilton Rancheria chairman, Jesus Tarango, said that there would be many benefits to come from the completion and opening of the facility. He said:

We are privileged to partner with Boyd Gaming and look forward to the opening of Sky River, which will bring jobs and long-term benefits to our tribe, our community, and the region.

Both the tribe and officials from Elk Grove are classing the new facility as a great regional destination for visitors. In addition, they pointed out that it will provide many benefits for Elk Grove and could be a real boon to local communities.
