Casinos in Delaware Reopen
It has been revealed that two casinos in Delaware have started opening their gaming floors around the clock again following restricted hours that were put into place during COVID-19. During the height of the pandemic, casinos and other venues were forced to close. Once they re-opened, there were strict measures in place, which included restricted opening hours.
The restricted hours that were put into place during the pandemic had a huge impact on venues, as it slashed their revenue levels. It also impacted customers, with many having been used to around-the-clock entertainment at the properties before the outbreak of Covid.
Now that the casinos are back to being fully operational, it will mean good news for both the operators and for those who enjoy visiting the venues for entertainment and gaming.
Bringing Back Convenience and Flexibility
Earlier this year, Delaware Park Casino announced that it was bringing back 24/7 gaming. It has now been announced that Bally’s Dover Casino & Resort is resuming full operations. Previously, Bally’s Dover opened its gaming floor between 8.00 am and 4.00 am Monday to Thursday and then 24 hours at the weekends.
It has now been revealed that Bally’s will go back to having its gaming floor open 24/7 daily, which officials said would bring back convenience and flexibility for patrons.
Bally’s Dover General Manager Nicholas Polcino said,
We are thrilled to bring back the convenience and flexibility with our 24/7 operating hours. This change reflects our dedication to enhancing the guest experience and meeting the needs of our diverse and vibrant community.
He added that the decision to reopen around the clock had been made after the venue took on another 100 new employees. Many of those who were hired were already trained as card dealers, which means that table games can now resume on a 24/7 basis.
Following COVID-19, many casinos struggled to get new staff on board, which further compounded the problems they were facing as a result of the pandemic. Many were unable to return to full operations as a result of this, even when restrictions were lifted.
The other casino in Delaware, which is Harrington Raceway & Casino, opens from 8.00 am until 4.00 am Monday to Friday and is open around the clock at weekends.
Good News for Delaware
The move to return to full operations comes as good news for the state. The creation of new jobs at Bally’s has had a positive impact on the employment sector in the area. It has also come as good news for the venue itself, as it now has the necessary resources to offer a full 24/7 service to patrons again.
It also comes as good news for gamblers in the area, as it means that they can now go back to gambling at any time of the day or night to suit their schedule. The increased gambling hours will have a positive impact on gaming revenues, which will help to boost state revenues in the form of gambling taxes.
